These systems are alternatives to standard Oil, Gas and Electric systems. They would have higher initial installation costs but would provide a payback through lower running costs and reduced harmful environmental emissions. As the fuel they use is renewable (or run at higher efficiencies in the case of condenser boilers) you will achieve a higher score towards your Building Energy Rating (BER) than a heating system that uses fossil fuels.
